A simulantion model was developed based on the engineering model under matlab/Simulink environment so as to simulate the P-V and I-V characteristics of photovoltaic cell. To get the cell’s output curve of the maximum power, the input module of the original simulation model needs to be modified and then it is needed to add the modules of the cells’ temperature, environment temperature and illumination. For the modified model, it is only needed to input the engineering specifications, real-time lighting and the voltage at the max power point, then the real-time output power curve varing within 24 hours is simulated
